ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Tonight in Ithaca, learn more about Tompkins County Legislature candidates.

The League of Women Voters of Tompkins County (LWVTC) candidate forums continue this evening, with District 3 hopefuls Iris Packman and Pierre Saint-Perez.

The labor lawyer and lifetime Ithaca resident Packman previously spoke with WHCU about why she’s seeking higher office, how to increase green jobs, and the implications of affordable housing shortages.

In March, Saint-Perez, currently serving an elected term as a member of the Ithaca Common Council, told WHCU why he’s looking to make the jump from city to county government, saying the issues that affect Ithaca don’t end at the city/town line.

The forum starts at 7 p.m. and will be livestreamed on YouTube. Next week at GIAC, another forum featuring Ithaca Common Council candidates is set for Wednesday night.

Last night, LWVTC hosted a candidate forum in Danby for three candidates vying for the District 13 seat.

On June 11, LWVTC will host another forum at GIAC featuring candidates for Wards 1 and 5 on Ithaca’s Common Council.
