SUNY Cortland soccer standout to play in Uruguay

A former SUNY Cortland soccer player, Mateo Marra, will play professionally in South America.

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A former SUNY Cortland soccer player will compete professionally in South America.

Midfielder Mateo Marra is taking his talents to Uruguay. According to SUNY Cortland Athletics, he’ll play for the Montevideo Wanderers Fútbol Club of the Uruguayan Primera División.

Marra is the second-leading scorer in Cortland’s history. He played for the Red Dragons as a grad student in 2024.
