ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A local energy program is changing its name.

Ithaca Town Supervisor Rod Howe says Community Choice Aggregation will soon be called TGEN, which stands for Tompkins Green Energy Network.

“We will be rolling out an education and outreach plan over the summer,” he says. “We are expecting other municipalities to down the road join on to TGEN.”

The program allows energy to be bought in bulk for businesses and residents.
