ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Goodwill of the Finger Lakes has officially opened its first Ithaca retail store, marking its 13th location in the region and the first in Tompkins County.
The new 15,000-square-foot store, located at 723 South Meadow Street in the former Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Friday, April 25th attended by local leaders and Goodwill representatives.
“When you donate or shop at Goodwill, you are giving things a second life and embracing value, versatility and sustainability in every purchase,” said Jennifer Lake, President & CEO of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes. “Following Earth Day, our arrival in Ithaca is timely and exciting as we recognize the sustainable impact of shopping secondhand and our commitment to elevating people, community and the planet… We look forward to having a presence here for many years to come.”

As with all Goodwill locations, the store offers affordable, gently used items including clothing, electronics, housewares, and seasonal goods. The first 100 customers received complimentary $10 gift cards. The site also serves as a donation drop-off, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Monday–Saturday) and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Sunday).
“I am proud to welcome Goodwill of the Finger Lakes to Ithaca and to see their commitment to advancing a circular economy in our region,” said Assemblymember Anna Kelles. “By donating or shopping at Goodwill, our neighbors are taking a meaningful step toward reducing [environmental] impact… The addition of Goodwill strengthens [Ithaca’s] legacy [in reuse]. I look forward to seeing how this new partnership contributes to our broader goal of environmental sustainability, economic resilience and community wellbeing.”
