ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Nearly three months of work is underway at the Ithaca Youth Bureau (IYB).
On April 15, the IYB parking lot overhaul project began. Contractors are working to improve the existing, which will feature new traffic flow patterns, granite curbs, sidewalks, curb ramps, and drainage improvements.
City officials urge caution in the work zone and ask drivers to pay attention to signage. Intermittent construction and traffic delays on James L. Gibbs Drive are expected as a result of the work.
Motorists and bicyclists should seek alternate routes, and commuters are encouraged to flex travel times, ride-share, or use public transportation when possible. The TCAT bus stop for Stewart Park has also been shifted.
The project is scheduled to wrap up on July 1, weather dependent.
