CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – One person is recovering after a motor vehicle collision in Cortlandville.
On April 16, first responders were called to Route 281 around 8:45 a.m. near Lankler Drive for a report of a blue Honda Accord that had struck the back of a garbage truck.
The car became wedged beneath the truck, trapping the driver. Firefighters had to cut the roof and a door off of the vehicle to extricate the driver, which took about 35 minutes.
The driver was taken to Upstate Medical Hospital for treatment.
The Cortlandville Fire Department, City of Cortland Fire Department, Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, NYSP, NYSDEC, SUNY Cortland Police, and TLC EMS responded to the scene.
