ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Emergency medical services in Tompkins County is a work in progress. 

Matt Sullivan is running for the District 13 seat on the Tompkins County Legislature. As a longtime paramedic, Sullivan tells WHCU there’s much room for improvement in the rapid response EMS program, which the country introduced last year.

But he adds it’s been a good step forward. 

Tompkins County legislators will be talking about the program’s future during upcoming budget discussions.
