ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Planning continues for Tompkins County’s new homeless shelter.
Recently on Ithaca’s Morning News, Tompkins County Administrator Korsah Akumfi explained concept designs are currently being reviewed.
To help defray some of the costs, Akumfi tells WHCU the county will look toward state funding.
Construction of the new building on Cherry Street in Ithaca begins in 2026, and Akumfi says the targeted opening date is 2027.
