CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — An apartment building is damaged after a fire. 

Cortlandville and Homer firefighters were called Friday evening to Sherbrook Apartments because of a kitchen fire. A person living in an adjacent was evacuated and treated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is helping residents of the building, which suffered significant smoke and water damage.
