ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — A major Cornell donor is unhappy with the school.

Class of 1975 alum Marsha Dodson said she “went on a warpath” when she found out her namesake field hockey field was destroyed with no immediate replacement. She told the Cornell Daily Sun she’ll be “a lot more cautious” with her donations. Dodson has reportedly donated over $1 million to Cornell Athletics.

The university is planning to build an artificial turf field hockey field on Game Farm Road, though the project has been pushed back. In a recent statement, Athletics Director Dr. Nicki Moore said she “should have listened” to her colleagues when they warned her of growing timeline concerns.

At this time, it’s unclear where the Big Red field hockey team will play its home games in 2025. The nearest field fit for NCAA competition is in Syracuse.
