WASHINGTON, DC (607NewsNow) — Rep. John Mannion has opposed a budget vote.
“I voted no on a budget bill that would require devastating cuts to important federal programs – including health care for seniors and food for children and families – so Trump and his allies can cut taxes for billionaires,” Mannion said. “In my district, hundreds of thousands of constituents would be hurt by these attacks on their health care and food security, all while adding hundreds of billions to the federal deficit. This is partisan policy at its worst and it will cause real pain across America. I totally reject this bill and its objectives.”
Mannion, who represents the 22nd Congressional district, called the budget resolution ‘highly partisan.’ His colleague, Rep. Josh Riley of the 19th Congressional district, also dissented.
In #NY19, 243,265 people—32% of our neighbors—rely on Medicaid. The GOP budget slashes it by billions just to reward billionaire donors. I won’t let them push hardworking families off a cliff for more corporate giveaways.

Mannion and Riley joined other Congressional Democrats in rejecting the resolution, which passed Tuesday and heads to the Senate.
