CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland is buying a new fire truck.
The Common Council agreed Tuesday to purchase a vehicle that will replace a 30-year-old ladder truck, which the city first received in 2014. A $1 million grant is covering most of the cost.
Fire Chief Wayne Friedman tells WHCU the remaining $792,000 balance will either be covered by a FEMA grant or bond resolution. Tuesday’s vote was unanimous.
The new truck gets delivered in July.
