ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A convenient roadway in Ithaca is back open.

City leaders cut the ribbon at Cecil A. Malone Bridge today. Bridge Systems Engineer Addisu Gebre says many upgrades have been made.

“It’s wider, safer, with bridge lights and with widening sidewalks,” he says.

Gebre adds the project has been a “journey.”

He says the process began in 2018, with a total cost of $3.5 million.
