CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A theft complaint leads to drug charges for a pair of people in Cortland County.
On Sunday, May 7, 2023, Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a gas station in the Town of Cortlandville for a report of a man stealing merchandise. The suspect, 42-year-old Jason Hyde, of Cortlandville, was found in a vehicle still on the property along with two others.
Hyde, and one passenger, 37-year-old Nichole Gibson, of Richford, are both alleged to have had meth, fentanyl, and cocaine on them during a search. Each is charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance. Hyde is additionally charged with a single count of misdemeanor petit larceny. Hyde was remanded to Cortland County Jail with no bail.
Hyde and Gibson are both scheduled for their next court appearance on May 17, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in Cortlandville Town Court.
