ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Construction activity at Cornell will impact traffic.
Crews will begin preparing for the Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science (CIS) building project this week. It’s being built at the site of former Hoy Field, where the Big Red played baseball for a century. Fencing will be put up along Hoy Road and the west side of the parking garage. The east sidewalk of Hoy Road will be closed from the parking garage to Gates Hall. The info booth surface parking lot near the garage will be closed. Construction vehicles will use the drive near the booth to access the work site.
Officials are urging motorists to drive cautiously through the construction zone. The site preparation work begins Wednesday, April 19, 2023. The CIS building is expected to be completed in 2025.
The Cornell Baseball Association and the Department of Athletics and Physical Education are celebrating their new baseball diamond, Booth Field, located on Ellis Hollow Road, this Friday and Saturday.
