ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Cecil A. Malone Bridge in Ithaca will close for two weeks to put the final touches on its replacement.
Crews will mill and pave the roadway leading up to the bridge and do landscaping along the shoulder. The bridge closed last June for the replacement project before reopening in February 2023. It was originally supposed to reopen in December 2022.
Officials say an off-site detour will be in place and sidewalks for pedestrian traffic on both sides of the bridge will be open. The work begins April 24, 2023, and is expected to wrap up on May 5, 2023.
