CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — State funding will help the Cortland County Health Department.

The county is receiving about $560,000 over the next five years. Officials say the money will help hire and retain staff, and buy new equipment. They’re in the process of creating a public health technician position. 

The money is coming from the State Department of Health as an infrastructure award.
