ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Four Cornell students are now banned from campus.
According to the Coalition for Mutual Liberation, Cornell has given the three undergrad students and one grad student ‘persona non grata status’ for three years for their involvement in a pro-Palestinian protest in September. A CML statement says the status ‘ceases their degree progression.’
Meantime, Cornell Vice President for University Relations Joel Malina has released related video footage from the Sept. 18 protest. The combination of Cornell Police body cam and lobby camera footage shows protestors forcing their way inside the Statler Hotel. Malina says the footage “shows initial forced entry at the Statler lobby and disruptive activity inside the Career Fair.”
Protest organizers had denied there was any forced entry or physical clash with officers.
