ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Ithaca will become more walkable.

On Wednesday, the Common Council approved plans for various sidewalk improvements. They include construction on Cecil A. Malone Drive, Park Place, and Linn Street.

Sidewalk Program Manager Peggy Tully said the work will link neighborhoods together.

“As we grow, hopefully we’ll be able to really connect our city completely,” she said. “That’s the goal of this program.”

In total, the work will cost about $900,000. Construction will start next year.
