ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A center of government building is under consideration in Tompkins County.
Officials say the project would make public services more accessible. Parking would also be a priority. Legislative Chairwoman Shawna Black says there’s currently not much space for vehicles.
“We need employees to show up for work,” Black says. “They can’t like float their cars in the sky. We have very few options here.”
The center of government would be about 50,000 square feet in Ithaca. It would cost more than $30 million.
