BINGHAMTON, NY (CortacaToday) – A state lawmaker’s school supplies drive was successful in the Southern Tier.
State Senator Lea Webb says her three-county campaign brought in over 600 contributions for teachers. Webb launched the campaign in late August in Tompkins, Cortland, and Broome Counties to help educators who use their own money to subsidize the needs of students in their classrooms.
“I am deeply moved by the outpouring of generosity from our community,” said Webb. “I’m glad that we have built upon the success of last year’s inaugural drive, gathering over three times as many donations, joining with more community partners to host collection sites, and providing supplies to even more schools this year.”

Webb’s second annual school supplies drive for teachers ran from August 14, 2024, through September 6, 2024.
“Our teachers are the backbone of our education system, and ensuring they have the tools to succeed is a shared responsibility,” added Webb. “I want to extend my sincerest thanks to every individual, family, and organization that contributed to this initiative.”
