CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — A local coach is sharing his thoughts on a highly sought-after baseball.

On Thursday, Shohei Ohtani became the first player in Major League history to smash 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season. SUNY Cortland Baseball Coach Joe Brown said he would’ve gone all-out to catch the 50th home run ball.

“I probably would’ve put my best Gold Glove activity together,” he said.

The ball landed in a left-field deck at Miami’s LoanDepot Park. A frenzy ensued as a flock of fans tried to secure the piece of sports history.

Experts say the ball could fetch north of $250,000. Brown called that amount “astronomical.”
